Heavy rain and poor pitch conditions prevented the Italy national team from training Monday morning, hours before a Nations League game against Turkiye.

Italy coach Roberto Mancini was forced to cancel the Azzurri’s final training session on the morning of their game against Turkiye.

As reported by Gazzetta , heavy rain over Bursa left the pitch selected for Italy’s training in poor condition for this morning’s session, during which Mancini hoped to run set-piece routines and give final tactical advice.

Italy, instead, trained inside their hotel this morning with a light ‘muscle-activation session.’

Sunday was Mancini’s only day to test his potential XI against Turkiye, since, as usual, those involved in the game against Belgium on Friday did not train on the pitch the following day.

Alessandro Bastoni will surely return to Italy’s XI after serving a one-game ban against Belgium, while Matteo Ruggeri and Michael Kayode are expected to make their debuts with the Azzurri.
